A Charmed Wedding

This is what I think about when I wear my pandora silver celebration cake charm with a gold heart on top on a necklace.

After the bridal showers had finished, the day finally arrived of our actual wedding day. We were blessed that so many of our friends and family members could travel from near and far to join us on our big day in the church to exchange our marital vows. Our wedding day came with huge thunderstorm in the morning, my personal attendant and one bridesmaid had a very difficult time getting to town because their gravel roads were literally washed away from all the rain in the country. By one o’clock in the afternoon when the wedding ceremony was to take place the clouds parted and left behind blue sky and a lot of humidity; we handled that far better than rain. Our wedding ceremony was wonderful, even more so than I would have ever thought. We had the traditional Catholic Church service, a reception at the local dance hall, and the band for the wedding dance at night. The day was so much fun, my face did not even hurt from smiling because I was not trying to smile, I was just so happy. All of our families and friends enjoyed the festivity and added to all the fun memories. Everyone ate, danced, drank, and laughed as the day and night rolled on. It eventually ended though and we spent our wedding night in a local Bed and Breakfast. My new husband and I spend a long time taking out two hundred blond bobby pins from my head and washing out one gallon of hairspray, and by the end of all this drama we literally fell into that feather bed. The next morning we were refreshed and ready to go to gift opening at my parents’ house, we packed all our goodies after eating homemade quiche and fresh fruit cups in the glass patio at the bed and breakfast. My new husband had loaded the bags and the wedding dress and tux and came into the room to get me. We sat on the bed to catch our breath and he gave me a little Pandora charm right then and there. It was a pandora silver celebration cake charm with a gold heart on top. This is the cutest charm, each layer of the cake has a different design on it and it is topped with a gold heart, it is very relevant because our own wedding cake was very charming. I had pulled out a magazine photo for our cake maker and asked her copy it, the neatest part of the cake was she wrote little saying in white frosting all over the base lavender frosting. It said things like, ‘love is forever’, ‘newlyweds’, ‘young love’ etc. It was great! It only tasted okay though I have to admit. I was shocked because about two days prior to this, my college friends had given me four other charms on a pandora bracelet. I had just learned about Pandora charms and now my new husband knew all about it too. Apparently my friends had been telling him about their charm bracelet idea and he agreed that it was a good idea, so he picked up on the idea and now I have a cake on a little silver chain that I wear. This little charm makes me feel hungry whenever I look at it because I love cake with that butter cream frosting, and it brings back all the memories of planning the wedding. Especially ripping out all those photos of dresses and cakes and then finally deciding on the exact one we wanted. To wear this charm is fun because it is a bit odd and I do get asked about it every time I wear it. People are always curious about the little cake on my neck. I have fun telling them about our real cake and how my husband gave me that charm. I am really learning a lot since I was given a new charm bracelet. Pandora is a very well known company and a lot of women like to collect these charms.
