I received even more Pandora beads for my graduation. It makes me so happy to know I have such a caring family and one that knows me so well. We are a close-knit family and will be forever. Pandora should have a slogan that says, “Keeping families together forever with a bond,” because my family can attest to it. My aunts, cousins, mother, grandmother and I enjoy getting and giving these beads filled with character and thoughtfulness.
One of my brothers gave me the adorable clown bead. It captures the look of a clown perfectly with its large circular nose and smiling face. He thought it would be a funny addition to my charm bracelet and it also brought back memories. He remembered when I used to be afraid of clowns. I used to have nightmares about them and would go crying into my parent’s bedroom late at night telling them how I had visions of clowns chasing me. They would soothe me for a little while and then I had to go back into my own bed. I also refused to dress in a clown outfit for the June Dairyfest parade in town with the rest of my 4-H club, because it scared me. My mother had a costume and make-up all ready to put on me, but I cried and threw a tantrum. I ended up keeping my regular clothes on and watching the parade from the street, which made me much happier. This was probably the time when the family knew my fear of clowns was real. At fairs and the circus they tried to stay clear away from the red-nosed characters with balloons. When I reached the age of twelve the fear seemed to disappear. The clown bead makes me laugh at how funny children can be and the different quirks they can have. It’s hard to imagine why anyone would be afraid of clowns, but sometimes everything is not understandable.
My Dad gave me the dangling golf ball bead with the 14K tee. What a cute bead! I love how the tee sticks out in gold. Another gold bead, I couldn’t believe it! How pretty and another bead with a fitting story. My father loves to golf and was happy when I turned ten and was able to golf and start to enjoy it as much as he did. We had a family membership to the local country club, and he used to take me with him every weekend and even one or two days during the week to the golf course. I think others thought it was cute seeing the two of us out on the golf course together. I would even beat my dad’s score every once in awhile, which he still has yet to admit to. As I got older we didn’t golf together as much, especially after I started dating my current boyfriend. I tend to go golfing more now with my boyfriend because he also likes to play, and we seem to play at the same level. My love of the game still continues and I was even able to join the golf team in high school. I never did make it to the state competition, which was my goal, but I enjoyed the sport and that was all that mattered to my dad. This golf ball bead will remind me to enjoy my free time more and get out to the golf course with my father whenever I can. I think we both miss our time on the golf course. The golf memories obviously meant a lot to both of us and we will never forget them.
With some of my graduation money I bought the lucky clover bead. I thought I could use another two-tone bead and this seemed like the perfect choice. It is cute because only the four leaf clovers are gold and the three leaf ones are silver. What a neat design! It shows that you can’t be lucky all of the time. I thought I could use some luck on my bracelet, which could carry over in my life. I have won a few prizes in my life, have a great family life, and a wonderful boyfriend, but maybe this will help me be even luckier in the game of my life. Maybe I will even win the lottery! I know you have to work hard for things and most things don’t land in your lap, as my parents can attest. But what is life without a little luck and a four leaf clover? I used to think my lucky furry trolls brought me luck when I was younger, but I lost them all. So it is probably time to replace these little characters.
I had such a memorable graduation. I don’t think I could have asked for anything better to end my high school tenure and now gear up for my new college life. My Pandora bracelet has such beautiful and unique beads on it. I love showing it off and telling others how they can start their own bracelet. I look forward to the next beads I receive and am glad that I could put my own personal touch on my bracelet as well. More Pandora beads are definitely in my future.
