Ask and you shall receive. That is what happened to me last Christmas when my husband, who normally is not the best gift giver, gave me a new Pandora bracelet with the Journey Bead attached. I asked him to check out the Pandora bracelets and to pick out the bead he would most like me to have. I guess he knows my taste…and he probably should seeing that we have been married almost fifty years. He said when he saw the name of the bead that it was the right one for me. It represents our journey in life together, our six children, their spouses, our nine grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren. It was a special surprise to see this marvelous present and I look forward to what he will pick out next. He proved he can have good taste if he gets a little help from me.
I guess my daughter was in on the surprise when she gave me a new bead for my Pandora bracelet. My husband must have told my daughter he was giving me the bracelet for Christmas because she had a bead waiting for me to open on Christmas also. My daughter, Abigail gave me the Champagne Swirl bead and I really like it. It reminds me of the celebrations we have had in the past such as just this last New Years when we went away for the weekend and ate crab legs and drank champagne. I like the crystals in the bead. They give my bracelet a beautiful luster and shine. Hopefully my other children will take a lesson from her and buy me more beads for the next holiday that comes around, maybe Mother’s Day?
Could my husband surprise me any better? He went on a trip with his friends for a weekend of fun gambling. I was a little jealous when he left because I felt like I was in need of some time out of town also. I had a busy week and was ready for some relaxation, but had to stay home to tend to house and farm chores. So when he came home with a charm for my bracelet I was so excited. He pulled it out of his suitcase and I felt like a child again. It was the purse charm, which was so fitting. He said he had done some winning and thought of me sitting alone at home. So he thought he would use his winnings to buy me another charm. He thought my bracelet needed a little pizzazz and the purse charm would jazz it up some. Now I have a little color on my bracelet and look forward to adding some more colorful beads. I guess it is OK for him to go out of town on trips. Maybe he should even go a little more often, especially if the end result is more beautiful beads for me.
