Charming Memories

I started collecting charms for a bracelet when I was in high school. It is full of charms that remind me of special memories in my life or places that I have traveled. For the past several years a group of friends and I have been getting tog ether for a girl's getaway weekend once a year. (Some of us have been friends since kindergarten) We each have a special bracelet and purchase a charm that will remind us of our time together. Our first charm is a small cottage from our weekend at a lake house in Northern Wisconsin. The next year our travels took us to Nag's Head for a weekend, so our sailboat charm reminds us of a sunset cruise. A horse and buggy charm serves as the memory jogger for a trip to Amish country. This fall our trip is to the Gulf Coast of Florida and we will be on the look out for some special charm that will help us remember our lazy days on the beach. This year's trip is a celebration of our 50th birthday so I am buying a birthday charm for each of my friends to place on their bracelets. We are hoping to fill our bracelets with charms to remind us of special places and wonderful memories of our times together.
