Pandora was there when the most influential celebrity women gathered to be honored at the Lincoln Center in New York for Glamour’s Women of the Year Awards 2005. Each of the winners was presented with personalized Pandora charm bracelets that celebrated each individual’s personal achievements, while capturing their personal style and grace.
Those honored at the Women of the Year Awards are not just admired for their extraordinary talents in fields, such as entertainment, business, sports, music, science/medicine, education, activism and politics —many are also respected for their trendsetting style. Pandora tackled the task of creating personalized charm bracelets that mirrored each inspirational woman’s personal style while celebrating their personal achievements.
Choosing the perfects charms to honor these inspirational women was no easy task. Capturing the comedic legend Goldie Hawn’s beauty and humor with whimsical blue beads; sultry star Catherine Zeta Jones knock out performance in Chicago with music charms and romantic beads; or the Irish pride and dignity of President of Ireland and High Commissioner for Human Rights of the United Nations, Mary Robinson, with polished beads and Irish charms, was no easy task. Pandora rose to the challenge by studying each woman’s career and style to create the perfect personalized Pandora Jewelry for each winner.
Many of the bracelets created honored women whose personal acts resulted in great social programs and awareness.
Hurricane Katrina rescuers were honored with all-American beads that displayed their acts of heroism and a special bead called
the Angel of Hope Bead, a charm whose proceeds will support rebuilding from Katrina. Petra Nemacova was given a bracelet filled
with hearts to honor her Happy Hearts Fund, which she established to benefit children who, like her, were victims of the
Tsunami. Mukhtar Mai of Pakistan created headlines for establishing women’s rights in developing countries, by fighting
the renegades who raped her, all the way to a victory in the courtroom. Her bracelet reflects her passion with the color red.
Songwriter and rocker, Melissa Etheridge was honored as the Accidental Activist Award with a bracelet of gold and red to reflect
her passion and energy and a special addition, the Susan G.Komen Bead, whose proceeds benefit breast cancer research.
You don’t have to be a celebrity to celebrate your own personal achievements or the achievements of the women in your life who are celebrities in your eyes. Treat yourself, or the woman you love to a personalized charm bracelet that highlights a memorable achievement or milestone that deserves to be celebrated. Whether it’s a promotion, a baby, a new car or an anniversary, make it something never to be forgotten with a personalized Pandora charm bracelet. |
